Hide-Away Mobile Storage Profiled for its Unique Help to Eckerd College Students

Hide-Away Mobile Storage delivers over 100 portable storage containers to Eckerd College to provide students with convenient summer storage.

November 17, 2006

ST PETERSBURG, FL (PRWeb) -- Hide-Away Storage was profiled on Bay News 9 on May 20, 2006 for providing a very unusual way to help Eckerd College students in St. Petersburg, FL, store their belongings when vacating their dormitories for summer vacation.

Meisha Wilson, Tampa operations director of Hide-Away Storage, described the company’s mobile storage service to Bay News 9 as the, “new and improved version of self storage.”

She said Hide-Away delivered more than 100 of its bright yellow mobile storage containers to campus for the students to fill with their belongings. Typically, several students used one container. Hide-Away kept the portable storage containers for the summer at the company’s air conditioned mobile storage warehouse in Sarasota. They were delivered by Hide-Away Storage back to the Eckerd College campus when the students returned after their summer break.

The portable storage containers allowed the students to load their belongings while on campus and eliminated the need for students to find transportation to a local self storage facility. “A lot of students don’t bring cars down, so this is the most convenient way for them to store their stuff,” Robert Clark of Eckerd College said.

Some graduating seniors also used Hide-Away’s mobile storage boxes to move their belongings from campus to nearby apartments after graduation. Kathy Peacock, a graduating senior from Washington State, commented, “I think it’s nice because it’s right here and then I can load up everything right here and have them delivery it to me wherever I am in a month,”
